Pretty tops for Emma

I've been shopping for Emma again and here's my pick of summery tops for her, with bonus outfits for some of my favourites!

Pretty tops for Emma

I love the broderie and peter pan collar combination, the summery polka dot cami and the purple pleat blouse but here are my favourites as part of suitably Emma-esque ensembles.

I really love this top with its contrast scalloped bib and row of buttons and I like the idea of it with Emma's Tibi calligraphy skirt. And you gotta love those sweet doe earrings!

With polka dots and bows this blouse could hardly be more perfect for me.

I loved the navy and white version of this top but I think I like this pretty blue colourway even more. And I love the way it looks with these coral and peach tones.

Beachtime fun Pillsbury-style

It's summer and I really want to go to the beach. But instead I've collected together the beach-appropriate attire I would like for such a trip. There's a lot of polka dots, ruffles and stripes. Plus some bows.

Beachtime in polka dots, stripes and frills

I adore all the polka dotted or striped and ruffled bikinis and I'm sure it's entirely obvious why. Happily there are a lot to choose from. Although there's a lot to be said for the, plainer but bright, red or yellow ruffled two-pieces too.
And for something more covered up there are some lovely one-pieces - yellow ruffled, halter polka-dotted or perhaps the striped and polka-dotted 'azure like it' swimsuit from Modcloth which is perfectly suited to pale skin providing SPF 50 protection.

I do love the taupe dot bikini, which is surely so very Emma, and I'm thinking she'd like the navy scalloped and eyelet-edged bikini and the white broderie anglaise ruffles...although I really am never sure about white swimwear.

Though I'm not in general a fan of playsuits, this stripy/nautical/retro number is a two-piece so I really don't think it counts. Plus it seems totally practical for frolicking on the sands and practicality is my number one reason against playsuits.

Emmafying Season 2

There was a lot wrong with season two of Glee. A lot.

But my biggest complaint of all has to be the lack of Emma and in that respect
the season clearly set off on the wrong foot with an Emma-less episode. And at no point in Audition was I more annoyed than during Rachel and Sunshine's version of Telephone.

It just seemed so unfair. Emma loves telephones. She could have accessorized with her telephone brooch. What were RIB thinking?

Anyway it seems to me that this scene is perfect for inserting Emma and Rachel's H&M polka dot tee and ultra mini can be easily replaced with a dotty pussybow blouse and a longer length skirt. Add some telephone accessories and Emma would have been set for her season debut.
